Touch

Contrary to what many people believe, it's not possible to be an effective Christian on your own.  Once we become Christians, we need to touch base with God.  We do this in prayer and by reading His word.  Prayer is the means by which we speak to God; but reading the Bible is the means by which He speaks to us.

Secondly, we need to touch base with other believers.  This gives us strength, encouragement and motivation to live the Christian life.

Therefore, we need to find a good, bible believing Church where we can become involved and serve.  At Lifespring, we do not make it difficult for people to become members of our church family.  Someone who is not part of a family is an “orphan” and we want to bring “orphans” into our family.

We hold a members class and then we welcome them into the Church.  Every person who takes out membership makes four promises and these are explained in the member’s class:

  1. To protect the unity of the Church.  Without unity, the Church cannot carry out the mission of Jesus.
  2. To share some of the workload of the Church.  As a new member, you take responsibility to pray for the unchurched, invite them to attend along with you and make them feel welcome when they attend.
  3. To prepare for service. This means training and developing a servant’s heart.
  4. To set a good example by attending faithfully.
