The ultimate aim of our life here on earth is to "engage" in service.  However, before we can do that effectively, we must become a Christian.  In order to become a Christian, we have to bow down (crouch) and humble ourselves before God.  The Alpha course is a great place to begin.

Our Alpha teaches us to

  • Repent(Acts 2:19)!  Repentance implies sorrow for breaking the law of God, along with a purpose to turn away from it and leave it behind.  Secondly, we have to

 

  • Believe (Acts 20:21)To believe means to be persuaded of the truth, to regard or accept as true; to place confidence in.  The object of our faith as Christians is Jesus Christ and the fact that he has forgiven us our sins and wrong doings.

 

  • Be baptised(Acts 2:47).  We believe in baptism by total immersion in water.  For us, baptism always follows repentance and faith.  Here are four reasons to be baptised:

To follow the example of Jesus.

To obey the command of Jesus

To model the practice of the disciples

To model the practice of the Early Church
